Life changing tech - Advanced materials

Life changing tech - Advanced materials

In 2016, it is expected that the trends of technical development and innovations will continue, and technology will be even more involved in every day life. Along with smart houses (so-called Internet of things), expanding robotics and emerging virtual reality, game-changers of the following period will be new high-tech materials. Check out which ones change our lives in most productive ways.

Smart fabrics Although there's already a bunch of companies combining textile with micro electronics, the most interesting enterprise is certainly Google's Project Jacquard. In cooperation with famous jeans manufacturer Levi's, they are developing interactive fabrics with conductive yarns, setting the way for creating interactive clothes and furniture, opening immense possibilities for control of smart phones, laptops and other web based devices. The first interactive jeans will be available this year. Prepare yourself; and stop wiping your hands on jeans.

This year, recyclable thermoplastic will probably be the game changer of built and design in electronic industry. We all know that electronic devices obsolete very fast, and there are no enough ways to recycle all unnecessary plastic. Recyclable thermoplastic is a super-strong material; on the other hand, an active agent (like acid) easily dissolves it. It is likely to be used in high-end smart phones, and certainly will change they look and feel.

Another scientific dream will presumable come true. Graphene, a super strong and thin material, is known for long, but it's production was too expensive untill now. As researches discovered how to make it at 100 times lesser costs, it's use will bring revolution in medical, energy and manufacturing industry, leading to major improvements and further development.

Types of leather

Types of leather

For every products the most important is used fabric which determinate many facts. First, it is quality of products but also determinate the usage of products. This is same for leather items. The leather items is more expensive than eco leather items, have highest level of quality but also not available as eco leather items.

Common characteristic for all leather items is sourcing of material. This is natural material made of animal skin. Before it is used for production it is necessary to be processed chemically, to be adapted. Normally the animal skin is not same on every part- the upper part of animal's skin is thicker and tho lower part of animal has the thinner skin. Depends on thinnest of animal skin different items can be produced. Leather can be be made from many animals and the mostly is made from cows, pigs, goats, and sheep. The leather of this animals is more more available and the mostly less resistant. Same type of animals doesn't have same quality of skin and for that is important where and how animals are bred. Many items as handbags are produced from skin of some exotic animals such as alligators, ostriches, and kangaroos. This leather is very expensive and it is used only for luxury production. Normally as leather is rarer the price is higher. Today is also used skin from cats and dogs specially in China. In this country is used meat from this animals and they exports this leather in whole world.

Information about leather are very important specially to know how to care about item and how to use it. The great problem is the absence of information on label about type of leather specially for low and middle quality leather. There are no information about where leather come from. Exclusive leather items the mostly have information about type of leather and where leather come from.
